Taylor Plosser Davis is a Birmingham, Alabama–based residential architect and the founder of TPD Architecture + Design. She works with homeowners who are making thoughtful, long‑term decisions about how they want to live—now and in the years ahead.
Her practice focuses on whole‑home renovations and custom new construction, often for families navigating significant transitions and wanting a home that can support both daily life and future change. These projects tend to be complex, personal, and deeply tied to how clients envision living in their home over decades, not just years.
After nearly two decades in residential architecture, Taylor has become known for an approach she calls invisible accessibility. Rather than visible adaptations or after‑the‑fact solutions, she integrates long‑term livability into the underlying design of a home—through planning, circulation, and detailing that quietly supports ease of use without ever feeling clinical or compromised.
Her experience includes senior living work such as Cedar Ridge at Kirkwood by the River, an independent living cottage community in Birmingham, which sharpened her perspective on how design can support independence and dignity over time.
In 2025, Taylor was selected by Forbes for its inaugural America’s Best‑in‑State Residential Architects list. She is also a Certified Aging in Place Specialist and serves as the 2026 President of AIA Birmingham. She holds an undergraduate degree from Princeton University and a Master of Architecture from the University of Virginia.
Outside of practice, Taylor enjoys the camaraderie and conversation of her long-standing book group and is trying to learn Italian—an exercise in patience she finds both humbling and rewarding.
