Taylor Plosser Davis Architecture + Interiors has been awarded the Brick Industry Association’s top award in the 2021 Brick in Architecture Awards. TPD’s entry was awarded Best in Class for Residential Architecture – Single Family, for projects in the United States, Australia, Canada and Mexico.
TPD’s winning design is a home in Mountain Brook, Alabama, wherein the interior and exterior materials help tell the story of the home: a modern interpretation of a traditional Tudor cottage typical of the area. Artisan brick with a reflective finish catches the morning light and brightens the facade without the use of paint, limestone detailing recalls traditional homes in the neighborhood, and a unified soft palette of interior finishes provides a backdrop for the connected, light-filled space.
